Who We Are

At the heart of WholeCare is Elizabeth Moss

Elizabeth-Moss-2Elizabeth Moss is a holistic healthcare pioneer on a mission to humanize healthcare relationships. While working as a nurse, Elizabeth saw the suffering of people who have fallen into the gaps in the system and felt genuinely called to do something about it. She founded Caregivers by Wholecare in 1997. That’s when her vision was born. It has become more relevant than ever before.

Elizabeth understands that our humanity lies in caring for each other. Her bright vision lit the way as she worked diligently to build a thriving agency dedicated to holistic in-home care. Caregivers by WholeCare is now the premier home care agency that Middle Tennessee people have come to rely on.

She takes great pride in the long-term satisfaction found by both our clients and our caregivers. Whether families seek companion care, specialized care for loved ones with dementia, short-term recovery support after surgery, or supplemental hospice and palliative care support, our competent and compassionate caregivers are there to meet your needs.

It’s the Caregivers by Wholecare white-glove approach and steadfast company integrity that lead to a consistent reputation for happy clients and dedicated caregivers. We don’t do shortcuts, and we also don’t overcare. Our clients receive a fully customized solution that meets their unique needs. That’s what premier, holistic care for body, mind, and spirit is.

Elizabeth created a rock-solid foundation of values to build her company upon. These values support clients and caregivers so that they may grow toward their ultimate goal - living their best lives. What we offer our clients we also offer our caregivers.

24/7 support from WholeCare staff, detailed care plans that set clear expectations for care and growth, quarterly surveys that keep our finger on the pulse of the people most important to WholeCare - Clients and Caregivers. No one gets lost in the shuffle because we believe that each person makes a valuable and unique contribution to the mission.

From the start, Elizabeth has been at the forefront of bringing improvements and innovations to the in-home care field. By approaching her vocation as an opportunity to engage and enrich the lives of those she serves, she has been able to expertly match countless families with the resources they need to age in the comfort of home.

Elizabeth’s credentials span a wide array of modalities that combine to inform her unique approach to giving care. For example; She is a certified Licensed Practical Nurse of Geriatrics while also being well-versed in Integrative Health Practices like Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and many other therapeutic care modalities.

To this day, she never gets tired of learning. She is dedicated to ongoing training, education, and experience gathering to bring the best-of-class practices around wellbeing and care into the marketplace. She is truly a thought leader in her chosen field.

If Elizabeth is not caring for her staff and clients, she can be found on her lounge chair in her Tennessee home with her three beloved dogs reading books on personal growth, meditating, and exploring how we all can live our best lives, no matter what.

J. Michael Jacques

Michael-Jacques-HeadshotMichael Jacques loves getting up and going to work every day at Caregivers by WholeCare. With a focus on operations, he loves to figure out how to make the company run great. He relishes the opportunity to focus on the right things every day such as hiring the right caregivers, attracting the best clients, and delivering consistent care.

Michael believes doing the right thing for team members is fundamental to the success of the business. He demonstrates this by offering better pay, treating caregivers better, and helping them create a future. He knows that longevity in the home care business is important and getting away from the “that’s the way we’ve always done it” mentality to think creatively about doing such important work.

A Nashville native, Michael attended Franklin Road Academy and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His first real job was at a recording studio in Delmont, Pa., in advertising sales. Michael then spent 27 years in the security and production home integration industry and co-founded Interactive Systems in 2000 which became Symspire. Michael served as Executive Vice President at Symspire creating and developing systems and processes to help Symspire become the leading integrator in new home construction in the Nashville and Knoxville markets completing over 4,000 new homes annually.

Michael launched LightWay Home Health Care in 2018 with the mission to provide a platform for exceptional caregivers to assist families with the quality care they need. In 2020, WholeCare, a 24-year industry leader, merged with LightWay Home Health Care, becoming one of the largest providers of in-home care in Middle Tennessee. The companies recognized they shared the same philosophy to raise the standard of care for clients and support caregivers to serve with compassion, dedication, and excellence. This merger has strengthened WholeCare’s operations and logistics to set the stage for growth.

For the past six years, WholeCare has earned the Best of Home Care – Employer of Choice Award by Home Care Pulse, an independent research firm. This award is granted to only the top-ranking home care providers based on caregiver and client satisfaction scores. WholeCare was recognized as Nashville Business Journal’s 2021 Best in Business Award and 2020 Health Care Award.

An avid sports fan, Michael enjoys watching college football, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, or catching a Titans game. He caught hockey fever watching the Predators during their run for the Stanley Cup. Rooted in faith, Michael lives in a multigenerational home with his family in College Grove, Tenn., along with his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, grandson, son-in-law’s mother, and a standard poodle named Samson. There are at least six families in his neighborhood enjoying multigenerational living. Michael thinks bringing all three generations together under one roof has its challenges, but it has made him a better person as a result.
