Our Story Is An Everyday Hero’s Story

At WholeCare, we understand that our company’s story is the story of our caregivers and clients alike. Time and time again, we have been tested by many challenges and together we overcame countless obstacles.

Since our inception in 1997, we’ve collected thousands of untold heroes’ stories. We are grateful that some of those stories have made it into the local news, where we’re being recognized in the community for the irrevocable human-to-human service we provide. We strive to be a trusted in-home care provider and build relationships with our clients that they can count on when they need care for their loved ones or for themselves. We shine a light on the stories of our co-workers and clients who inspire us all.

It feels wonderful to be recognized for the work we are doing because it provides us with the opportunity to pass along those public kudos to our much-deserving caregivers. After all, they, and the clients they care for, are the real heroes. Intrinsic to the soul of Caregivers by WholeCare is our unwavering commitment to elevating the lives of seniors and the people who care for them. We demonstrate that care to the best of our abilities every day.

Our Reputation Is First Class

Caregivers by WholeCare was founded by Elizabeth Moss, LPN, in 1997 to fulfill a growing need for compassionate in-home care services for older adults and people with disabilities. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, WholeCare is privately owned and has more than 100 team members who have served more than 2000 clients since its inception. WholeCare provides families with comprehensive services including customized care plans to provide the right level of care at the right time. We know our clients’ needs change and we’re with you every step of the way providing care for the whole person--body, mind, and spirit.

WholeCare provides exceptional caregiving for individuals to engage and enrich their lives. We do this by living our values, focusing on the client, and caring for the caregivers. This approach has resulted in achieving a client retention rate of 30% of clients having been with us six years or longer and 76% of our caregivers have been with the company one year or longer. In November 2020, Caregivers by WholeCare merged with LightWay Home Health Care. The joined companies expand capabilities to serve more families and accelerate strategic growth initiatives in the home care industry.

This consistency of delivering excellent service has earned industry recognition for WholeCare including being named Best of Home Care - Employer of Choice Award by Home Care Pulse, an independent research firm for the past six years. This award is granted to only the top-ranking home care providers in the U.S. based on caregiver and client satisfaction scores.

Additionally, WholeCare received the 2021 Best in Business Award and 2020 Health Care Award by Nashville Business Journal. Elizabeth Moss was recognized as one of the 2019 Most Admired CEOs and 2019 Women of Influence awards.

Elevating The Standard Of Care

Since the inception of WholeCare, the goal has been to elevate the standard of caregiving in the industry and we have worked very hard to achieve that in our 25+ year history. We have a rigorous hiring process and have actual employees—not contractors—who engage and enrich the lives of our clients. We provide compassionate care for our clients and serve them with dignity and respect while tailoring our care plans to all aspects of each individual, body, mind, and spirit. We partner with our clients to provide the right level of care they need when they need it.

We help clients with activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, bathing, and toileting. We also provide social interaction and engagement with our clients in conversations and activities they enjoy. Our goal is to help our clients remain independent as long as possible and help them age in place. We also provide transportation services to accompany our clients to doctor’s appointments or errands and transition care services from facility to home after surgery or a lengthy hospital stay. In addition, we have specialized services to care for clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Parkinson’s disease, or post-stroke recovery care.

WholeCare launched a new mobile app WholeCare Connect, a personal support platform that allows real-time requests for assistance by family, friends, and neighbors. WholeCare Connect is a private social media network for members and their trusted support circle. Participants can use it to keep everyone updated on the health status of loved ones, share requests for assistance, and find solutions for things like meal preparation, running errands, and even respite care.

WholeCare is the first home health company in the region to be a master care partner of Electronic CaregiverTM solutions, a monitored technology provider. Electronic Caregiver provides 24/7 physician on-demand, rapid response monitoring, and Addison Care, a voice-activated and tablet-based virtual caregiving system.
